To simplify and miniaturize an adsorption heat pump system, to reduce its equipment costs, and to enlarge its application range.
An adsorption heat pump is an air-cooled type adsorption heat pump including an evaporator 48, adsorbers/desorbers 49, 50, and a condenser 51, and the adsorbers/desorbers 49, 50 include orthogonal heat exchangers 38 of a structure to exchange heat between a flow channel of a fluid A and a flow channel of a fluid B. The flow channel of the fluid A holds an adsorbent and is constituted to allow steam as an adsorbate to flow therein, and the flow channel of the fluid B is constituted to allow the air as a working fluid to flow therein. The steam is repeatedly adsorbed and desorbed by the orthogonal heat exchangers 38, and cold heat obtained in the evaporator 48 is output as cold air by circulating the water between the evaporator 48 and the condenser 51.
