Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automatically hold adequate inflation of a tire.SOLUTION: An air holding tire assembly includes: a tire with a tire cavity whose boundary is defined by first and second side walls extending to a tire tread region; and air pumping means for generating air that is pressurized to hold air pressure within the tire cavity at a preset pressure level. The air pumping means includes: an upper side mounting plate fixed to a wheel rim of a vehicle; a lower side mounting plate which is fixed to the wheel rim and faces the upper side mounting plate in a diameter direction; a dynamic weight attached to the upper side mounting plate at a first end part position so as to move rotationally; and a pump which is fixed to the lower side mounting plate and mounted to a second end part of the dynamic weight so as to move rotationally.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
