PURPOSE: To improve a sintering yield by a method wherein a pallet is brought into an empty state when a pallet for a sintering machine is replaced, an amount of an occurring unburnt part being a defective sintered part owing to air leakage of the empty pallet is reduced.
CONSTITUTION: In a Dwight Lloyd type sintering machine, during replacing of a pallet, the upper surface of a pallet 22 brought into an empty state during replacing of the pallet is covered with a plate-form air leakage preventing cover 23 by means of an air leakage preventing cover feeder 10 and air leakage is prevented from occurring during movement of the pallet. Thus, an amount of occurring unburnt part is reduced, a yield is improved, replacing of the pallet is practicable without suspending a sintering work, and working efficiency is improved.
