PURPOSE: To reduce the fuel consumption by a method wherein the sensible heat of bypass gas from a cement raw material burning device is recovered.

CONSTITUTION: A cement raw martial burning device comprises a burning furnace 1 to burn a cement raw material, a preheater 3 to preheat the cement raw material by means of exhaust gas from the burning furnace 1, a cooling means 23 to take out a part of exhaust gas from the burning furnace 1 and cause mutual adsorption of a volatile component in exhaust gas and dust to each other, a dust collector 14 to separate dust in exhaust gas, a bypass gas introduction passage 16 to introduce exhaust gas, from which dust is separated, to the preheater 3, and a damper 18 located in the bypass gas introduction passage 16 and having a regulatable opening. Bypass gas from which dust is separated is returned to the preheater 3 by means of the dust collector 14.
