Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a quick air valve enabling extremely easy design calculation of displacement by adopting a structure requiring no float valve element, with the other basic configuration having many accomplishments in exhaust performance.
SOLUTION: This air valve is composed of: a valve casing 1 having an inlet 19 at its lower part, an opening 20 at its upper part and a widened stepped part 23 at the lower part of the opening 20; a lid 7 formed with a large air hole 6 and a small air hole 13, each communicating with the atmosphere, and fixed to the opening 20; a valve element guide 2 having a specific gravity of 1 or less, formed with a small lower hole 3 at its bottom, a window 5 at its side and a flange 36 at its upper part coming into contact with and departing from the stepped part 23, and installed in the valve casing 1 vertically movable so that the top face of the flange 36 can open and close the small air hole 13; and a floating valve element 11 with specific gravity of 1 or less and provided at the valve element guide 2 vertically movable so as to open and close the large air hole 6. When the flange 36 comes into contact with stepped part 23, the small air hole 20 opens.
