In this airtight terminal having a certain size, since a lead 3 is sealed, through sealing glass 2, to a lead sealing hole 1d of a metal outer ring 1 having a top plate part 1a, a tubular part 1b extending downward from an outer peripheral end of the top plate 1a, a flange part 1c expanding obliquely outward from the lower end of the tubular part 1b, and a small tubular part 1e extending toward the inner side of a cup from the top plate part 1a, and forming the lead sealing hole 1d in its inside, and an insulating sleeve 4 is welded to the sealing glass 2 on the inner surface side of the metal outer ring 1 to extend in parallel to the top plate part 1a and beyond the small tubular part 1e, dielectric breakdown can be prevented by efficiently increasing a creeping distance, and manufacturing cost can be reduced by allowing material usage to be reduced.
