PURPOSE: To facilitate the crushing and compression of the materials, release of evolved gas, and separation of the liquid, by attaching a flat plate in spiral form to the inner wall of a cylindrical drum, and providing a mesh plate separator parallel to the axis.

CONSTITUTION: The strained lees is discharged continuously from the apparatus through the conical part 4 according to the rotation of the apparatus 1 by the aid of a pair of flat plate 8 and 9. The apparatus is furnished with a motor 7 and a roller 6 to rotate the apparatus 1 and to accumulate the strained lees gradually to the discahrge side according to the pitch angle of the spiral flat plates 8 and 9 by the rotation of the cylindrical drum 2. The cylindrical drum 2 is supported by a pair of roller 6 to ensure the rotation of the drum without falling off from the rollers. The vent valve 11, the charging port 12 of the material, and the discharging valve 13 of the liquid are attached to the conical part 4 to facilitate the operation and inspection. The operational problems during the charging and extraction can be avoided, and the size of the apparatus can be reduced by attaching the above parts to the apparatus 1.
