Title:
ALUMINUM ALLOY FOR DIE-CASTING
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3724362
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aluminum alloy combining high proof stress and elongation, also capable of permanently maintaining mechanical properties as cast without requiring stabilizing heat treatment and having good die-castability.
SOLUTION: This aluminum alloy for die-casting has a composition containing, by mass, 3.0 to <4.0% magnesium, 1.0 to 1.5% manganese, 0.5 to 1.5% silicon and ≤0.5% iron, and the balance substantially aluminum. The ratio between magnesium and silicon, i.e., Mg/Si is also controlled to ≥2.7. If required, ≤0.5% copper may be contained as well.
