To provide an alumina honeycomb structural body, capable of effecting heat exchange efficiently even under corrosive atmosphere, the manufacturing method of the same and a honeycomb heat storage body employing the same.
The alumina honeycomb structural body 1 is so constituted, that the weight of impurities is not more than 2 wt.%, and the principal constituent of the same is alumina. The alumina honeycomb structural body 1 is manufactured by a method, where 97-70 wt.% of α alumina, 3-30 wt.% of aluminum hydroxide, forming assistant and solvent are mixed to plasticize and the mixture is calcined after extrusion forming to obtain the principal crystal phase of αalumina. Further, the honeycomb heat storage body 11 of this invention is provided with at least one piece of the alumina honeycomb structural body 1 and is constituted, so as to effect heat exchange by passing alternately heating gas and the gas to be heated.
