To provide an alumina honeycomb structural body capable of effecting heat exchange efficiently, even under corrosive atmosphere, a manufacturing method of the same and a honeycomb heat storage body employing the same.
The alumina honeycomb structural body 1, containing Na, which comprises 98 wt.% or more of a principal constituent or alumina, 0.01-1.0 wt.% of amount of Na2O obtained by converting a compound containing Na into an oxide and a balance of impurities, is constituted. The alumina honeycomb structural body, containing Na of this invention is manufactured by a method, where 97-70 wt.% of α alumina, 3-30 wt.% of aluminum hydrate, necessary amount of sodium source, forming assistant and solvent are plasticized by mixing and is calcined after extrusion molding. Further, the honeycomb heat storage body of this invention is provided with at least one piece of the alumina honeycomb structural body containing Na and is constituted, so as to effect heat exchange by passing alternately heating gas and the gas to be heated.
