Title:
AMORPHOUS METALLIC HYPER FINE PARTICLE AND PRODUCTION THEREOF
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2823494
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide amorphous metallic hyper fine particles and a method for surely and easily producing the amorphous metallic hyper fine particles having the property of hyper fine particles and an amorphous alloy in combination and provide an industrial material having properties such as high strength, high corrosion resistance, high activity and soft magnetic at a low cost.
CONSTITUTION: Plasma arc discharge is applied to a raw metal in a reaction gas composed mainly of an inert gas and containing a gaseous hydrocarbon and the evaporated metal is brought into contact with the reaction gas in plasma state and forms solid solution of carbon atom, which is quenched in the reaction gas to make amorphous. At least one kind of metal selected from among a group composed of Fe, Mo, Nb, Ta, Ti, Zr, Al, Si, and Cr is used as the raw metal. The amorphous metallic hyper fine particles having amorphous phase of at least 50% in terms of volume ratio and ≤500nm particle diameter is obtained by the method.
