The amplifier receiving a channel exclusively comprises a first frequency converting section for converting a television signal having an original frequency into an intermediate frequency signal having a lower frequency, a signal processing section for processing the intermediate frequency signal being outputted from the first frequency converting section, and a second frequency converting section for converting the frequency of the intermediate frequency signal passed through the signal processing section and outputting a television broadcast signal. The first frequency converting section performs frequency conversion using a high frequency signal generated from a first local oscillator and the second frequency converting section performs frequency conversion using a high frequency signal generated from a second local oscillator or the first and second frequency converting sections perform frequency conversion using a high frequency signal generated from the first local oscillator selectively.
