PURPOSE: To provide the analytical cell which is excellent in a light transmission factor, in a light transmission factor in the ultraviolet ray area in particular, and also excellent in chemical resistance by forming the analytical cell out of specified resin in a cyclic olefin system.

CONSTITUTION: As resin in a cyclic olefin system, at least one kind selected out of graft denatured products of polymers such as random copolymer of ethylene with cyclic olefin, ring opening polymer in a cyclic olefin system, and hydride of ring opening polymer, namely one out of these polymers is used by itself, or polymer combined with one another is used. Out of them, cyclic olefin random copolymer is preferably used. Resin in a cyclic olefin system is formed into a desired shape and size by means of a molding method appropriately selected out of injection molding, blow molding and the like, so that the analytical cell is thereby manufactured. The aforesaid analytical cell is excellent in a light transmission factor, in a light transmission factor in the ultraviolet ray area in particular, and also excellent in chemical resistance. Therefore, the analytical cell can be utilized as a replacement of a former glass made analytical cell.
