Title:
ANGULAR VELOCITY DETECTING DEVICE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3264580
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To easily keep agreement between the natural vibrations of a detector in a drive direction and a detecting direction.
CONSTITUTION: In an angular velocity detecting device for finding angular velocity on the basis of a Coriolis' force, detection sensitivity becomes maximum, when the natural frequencies of weights 16 and 18 in the first direction (drive direction) and the second direction (detecting direction) coincide with each other. The weights 16 and 18 are supported on such plate springs 20 and 22 as capable of changing a tensile force, depending upon voltage applied to a piezo actuator 46, and the natural frequencies in the first direction can be changed, depending on the applied voltage. In this case, even when voltage applied to the actuator 46 is changed, the shear modulus of torsion springs 28 and 30 does not change, and the natural frequencies in the second direction do not change. Thus, the natural frequencies in both directions can be made to coincide with each other. According to this construction, the natural frequencies can be easily made to coincide with each other through the adjustment of applied voltage, and detection sensitivity can be enhanced.
