The animal ectoparasite-controlling agent containing a hydrazide compound represented by formula (1) (wherein R3 is a fluorine atom, chlorine atom, bromine atom, methyl, ethyl or hydrogen atom; R5 and R6 are the same or different and each methyl or a hydrogen atom; R4 is 1-6C alkyl substituted with 1-6C alkoxy) as an active ingredient has excellent control effects on animal ectoparasites.
