Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide the driving method for the optical fiber which has a wide movement range and the assembling method for the optical module which is superior in productivity.
CONSTITUTION: A conductive film is provided on the peripheral surface of the tip part 1a of the optical fiber 1 to be positioned about a light emitting element 3 and connected to an external driving circuit 7 to constitute a DC circuit, and a magnetic field applying device is individually provided. The DC circuit is turned ON to apply a DC current to the tip part 1a and the magnetic field applying device applies a nearly vertical magnetic field to the tip part 1a. In this case, the direction of the magnetic field is rotated in a plane almost perpendicular to the tip part 1a. Consequently, the optical axis of the tip part 1a is aligned with the optical axis of the light emitting element 3 by displacing the tip part 1a in a proper direction by a proper quantity and then the tip part 1a is adhered and fixed at a specific position by using ultraviolet-ray setting resin.
