PURPOSE: To divide the type of a message according to an opponent and to attain a recording during a reproducing and the reproducing during the recording by using one circuit part for answering with time division and further, inputting a code which is determined in advance with a calling person by a PB signal.
CONSTITUTION: The exchange of sound data is normally executed through a channel memory(SPM) 4, however, only in case of connection to the circuit tor answering, the exchange of a sound is executed not through the SPM4 but through a message memory for answering(VMM) 11. Since the calling person inputs the code, which is determined in advance by the PB signal, a designated message channel can be switched to a sound recording mode. Here, when the recording is discriminated, line connection is instructed to a holding memory(HM) 9 and a sound signal to be inputted from a telephone line 1 is converted to PCM data through a CODEC3. Then, the message is stored through a selector 13 to the VMM11. Since this operation is wholly executed with the time division, even while the recording of the message is executed from a line, the sending of the message can be executed to the other line.
