Abstract:
PURPOSE: To increase the width of a usable frequency band and improve radiation characteristics by equalizing the band center frequencies of low voltage standing wave ratios when the antenna is stored in a radio equipment housing and drawn out to outside.
CONSTITUTION: The upper projection part 7b of a dielectric material 7 which covers a 1/2-wavelength radiation element 2 is formed into a large-diameter column. The length of the columnar projection part 7b is made a little bit larger than the length of the 1/4-wavelength radiation element 1. When the radiation element 2 is stored in the radio equipment housing 3, the peak part of the projection part 7b is made to protrude onto the radiation element 1. Consequently, the volume of the dielectric material 7 positioned in the radiation element 1 when the antenna is put in the housing 3 is larger than the volume when the antenna is drawn out of the housing 3. Therefore, the width of the frequency band which can be used for the radio equipment can be increased and the radiation characteristics can be improved.
