Abstract:

PURPOSE: To secure a control characteristic that coincides precisely with a road surface characteristic (the coefficient of friction), by deciding the control characteristic of brake pressure at anti-lock control on the basis of not only acceleration/deceleration in a vehicle longitudinal direction but also acceleration/ deceleration in a vehicle latitudinal direction.
CONSTITUTION: A brake pedal 10 is connected to a master cylinder 14 through a booster 12. Meanwhile, the master cylinder 14 is connected to respective brake wheel cylinders 26, 36, 46, 54 at respective right and left and front and rear vehicle wheels FL-RR through respective plural solenoid valves 22, 43, 42, 50 and liquid passages 24, 34, 44, 52 or the like. Respective solenoid valves 22... are respectively controlled by means of an electronic control unit 80 on the basis of respective detection signals from respective vehicle wheel speed sensors 102-106 and respective acceleration sensors or the like. In this instance, the control characteristic of brake pressure at anti-lock control is decided on the basis of not only acceleration/deceleration in a vehicle longitudinal direction but also acceleration/deceleration in a vehicle latitudinal direction.
