PURPOSE: To provide an anti-tumor agent having action functions for inhibiting a cdc2 kinase group, enzymes relating to the control of cell cycles, and for reducing the cycles and multiplication of cancer cells.
CONSTITUTION: The anti-tumor agent contains a compound of the formula [R1 is H, alkyl, alkenyl, arylalkyl, alkanoyl, tetrahydropyranyl; X1 is H, -COOR2, -CONHR3, -CON(R4)NH2, -C(R5)(R5)OR6 (R2-R6 are H, alkyl, cycloalkyl, alkenyl, aryl, arylalkyl, cycloalkylalkyl); Y1, Z1 are phenyl, 5,6-membered heterocyclic group containing 1-3 heteroatoms selected from S, O and N (the phenyl, heterocyclic group may be replaced with alkyl, alkenyl, arylalkyl, NH2, NO., etc.)] or its salt, e.g. 4-hydroxy-2-[4-hydroxy-3-(3-methyl-2-butenyl)benzyl]-3-[4- hydroxyphenyl)-5-oxo-2,5-dihydrofuran-2-carboxylic acid methyl ester.
