To provide a pottery and an enameled article having antibacterial properties and antibacterial activities, which contains an antibacterial agent which is not deactivated by urine or tap water, safe for human body, and harmless for environment, has sufficient antibacterial activities, exhibits sufficient antifouling effects, maintains the effects, and is free from a defect causing lowering of the commercial value, such as discoloration.

In the antibacterial pottery or enameled article, in which an inorganic antibacterial agent is contained in a glaze layer, the inorganic antibacterial agent is a multiple metal oxide containing at least one kind of metal ions of Mn, Fe, Co, Ni, Cu, and Zn, and at least one kind selected from alkaline earth metals, titanium, zirconium, aluminum, and silicon, and having an average particle diameter of 0.01-20 μm.
