Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide antigen-binding molecules with increased FC receptor binding affinity and effector function.SOLUTION: The invention relates to antigen-binding molecules (ABMs). In certain embodiments, the invention relates to recombinant monoclonal antibodies including chimera, primatized, or humanized antibodies being specific for human CD20. Further, the invention relates to nucleic acid molecules encoding such ABMs as well as vectors and host cells comprising such nucleic acid molecules. The invention further relates to methods for producing ABMs of the invention and methods for using these ABMs in treatment of diseases. Further, the invention relates to ABMs with modified glycosylation having improved therapeutic properties, including antibodies with increased Fc receptor binding and increased effector function.
