PURPOSE: To improve bonding accuracy by a constitution wherein a spine strip is positioned at a waiting position of a carrying path and the spine strip pieces are timely synchronously released with intermittently fed cover boards in an apparatus wherein the spine strip is cut into pieces by means of a cutting apparatus and the pieces are bonded with the fed cover boards in a bonding roller device.
CONSTITUTION: A conveying system for spine strips is constituted of a carrying path 2 and a series of pairs 3-6 of carrying rollers and the spine strips 1 are fed thereby into a bonding roller device consisting of a crosscylinder 7 and an upper roller 8 to bond the spine strip 1 and a cover board 1a. Behind of the carrying rollers 3, a cutting device 9 and a fixing device 10 for pinching the spine strip cut into a specified length are successively provided and both devices 9 and 10 are interlocked by a pneumatic driving means 11. Movement of the cover board 1a is detected as a reference by a measuring device consisting of a transmitting member 15 and an increment tool 16 and the result is transferred to an electronic drive controlling device 17 to control a servo motor 12 and the spine strip 1 is carried by rotating the pairs of rollers 3-6 through a chain 13.
