Abstract:
To provide an apparatus used for detecting and displaying varying levels of a metal melt.
The apparatus includes: at least one source of radiation (20) arranged on one side of a mold (14) along a designated length in a longitudinal direction and emitting radiation photons towards an opposite side of the mold (14); and at least one set of supersensitive detectors (30.1...30.8) arranged contiguously with each other on the opposite side of the mold (14) along the longitudinal direction, with respective detectors (30.1...30.8) arranged so as to receive incident photons emitted by the source of radiation (20).
