Abstract:

To provide an apparatus for detecting a foreign matter on a coin path which configures a detection system with a simple configuration and at low cost, and reliably detects a foreign matter with high accuracy.

The apparatus for detecting a foreign matter on a coin path is applied to an automatic ticket vending machine 11, etc., including: a coin shooter 26 for guiding a coin 27 discharged from a coin discharge port 25 of a coin processing part 24B to a change coin receiver 20, and comprises light emitting elements 32a to 32c arranged on the bottom surface 26a of the coin shooter, light receiving elements 33a to 33c arranged on a side wall surface 26b of the coin shooter to receive light emitted from the light emitting elements, and a foreign matter detecting part 54 for detecting a foreign matter on the basis of light receiving/shielding signals 61 to 63 output from optical sensors 51 to 53 comprising the light emitting elements and light receiving elements.
