Abstract:
PURPOSE:To accurately detect the rotating position of a rotary shaft by provid ing the first and second exciting means to a long magnetic body at shifted positions and applying exciting currents different in frequency to both exciting means to generate magneto-elastic waves different in frequency. CONSTITUTION:The first exciting coils 5a, 5b and the second exciting coils 6a, 6b are provided so as to be mutually shifted by a predetermined intervals and magneto-elastic waves having different frequencies f1Hz, f2Hz are excited in a magnetic body 4. By this method, the rotary position of a rotary shaft 1 becoming difficult in detection can be detected so as to be compensated by the synthetic magneto-elastic waves respectively excited by the first or second exciting coils and detection accuracy can be enhanced.
