To provide a hydrous waste drying apparatus in which deodorization can be made easy and heat efficiency can be made high.
This hydrous waste drying apparatus is provided with a waste agitating vessel 1 for housing and agitating hydrous waste W, a heating gas passage 2 which is arranged to surround the vessel 1 and through which heating gas G is made to flow for heating the waste W indirectly and a heating gas branching passage 3 for introducing a part of the exhaust gas G2 in the passage 2 into the vessel 1. By arranging the passage 2, a part of the gas G2 is mixed with steam from the waste W in the vessel 1 so that the partial pressure of the steam in the gas phase contacted with the waste W is lowered and dehydration promoting force is enlarged. As a result, since the temperature of the waste W is lowered, the heat transfer amount is increased, the exhaust temperature of the gas G is lowered and heat efficiency is made high. Since the amount of the bad smell component-containing exhaust gas to be discharged from the vessel 1 is decreased, the load on the succeeding deodorization apparatus, even when it is based on catalytic combustion or adsorption, can be lightened.
