To obtain a garbage drying machine which is capable of subjecting the garbage housed therein to drying treatment down to the deep part thereof with lesser electric power.

The front surface of a housing section (drying bag 6) which is mounted within a process chamber 5 and in which the garbage is housed is provided with an exothermic material 6c which generates heat when the material comes into contact with air or water. Drying and heating are effected by heating means 3. The garbage housed in the housing section (drying bag 6) is uniformly subjected to the drying treatment from the deep part by the heating with this heating means 3 and the generation of the heat by contacting of the exothermic material 6c with the air or the water.
