PURPOSE: To restrain suction of incorrect air by a method wherein at least one longitudinal sealing bar is adapted into the mode of a doctor blade and is mounted on a suction box such that it is deformable resiliently, and is comes in contact with a roll shell at least substantially tangentially.
CONSTITUTION: Two longitudinal closing bars 28, 29 are fixed to a lower surface of a suction box 14. In this case, the longitudinal closing bar 28 is protruded into a set 23 in taking-in, and the longitudinal sealing bar 29 is protruded into a set 24 in taking-out. The sealing bar is made of a synthetic resin in the mode of a doctor blade, and is held in the suction box 14 such that it is resiliently deformable, and further comes in contact with a roll shell 10a at least substantially tangentially. On an end wall of the suction box 14 a peripheral surface pacing is provided at a position every slightly separated from a peripheral surface of a direction alteration roll 10. Accordingly, the roll shell 10a in rotation arrests improper suctioning of air.
