To provide an apparatus for heating and carrying a long material, which uniformly and efficiently heats the end faces of a plurality of the long materials while transporting them.

The apparatus for heating and carrying the long material includes: a pair of fixing racks 2 for supporting a plurality of the long materials W one by one with a plurality of recesses 3; a pair of mobile racks 4 that have a plurality of recesses 5 therein which have a similar shape with the recesses 3, and support the long materials W, that move to rotate the recesses 5, and that are positioned in parallel to the fixing racks 2; and a heating box 10 positioned outside both of the racks 2 and 4 in parallel to them. The mobile racks 4 support the long materials W held by the recesses 3 in the fixed racks 2, with the recesses 5, lift them upward, and move each of the long materials W down so that the recesses 3 in the direction of carrying the long materials W in the fixed rack 2 can support them, while rotating; and the heating box 10 moves up and down in synchronization with the upper half motion of the rotating motion of the mobile racks 4, and has a plurality of fuel oxygen burners 11 on the side face 12 that faces to the end faces of the long materials W held by the recesses 3 in the fixed racks 2 and by the recesses 5 in the mobile rotating racks 4.
