Abstract:
PURPOSE: To easily understand the contents of caption superimposed characters by displaying the caption superimposed characters for various scenes on the same screen while successively scrolling them up as needed. CONSTITUTION: In the case that a display mode discriminated in a caption controller 13 is a scroll text mode, when the input contents of a caption code are discriminated and the caption code is inputted, the caption code is decoded. At the time, under the state of neglecting a control code for specifying the position of superimposed characters, the caption code is decoded and a character code is read. Simultaneously, a box for allocating the entire screen or a part of the screen to an on-screen display screen is specified in an on-screen display part 15. Then, by adjusting the position and size of the box, a scroll-up state is scrolled up to desired position and size on the screen.
