To provide an apparatus and a method for making a hole, by which apparatus and method, the flatness of a workpiece can be secured.
The apparatus 1 for making the hole on the workpiece 2 by punching the workpiece 2 supported on a die 3 by means of a punch 4 comprises a movable body 6 which supports the punch 4 and can move in the axial direction of the punch 4, a first pushing means 7 for applying a pushing force on the punch 4 so as to make the hole by moving the movable body 6, a stripper cylinder 30 which has an oil chamber 37 to be contracted with the movement of the movable body 6 and presses the workpiece 2 by the pressure of the oil chamber 37, and a pressure setting means for setting the pressure of the oil chamber 37 to required pressure. The punch 4 punches the workpiece 2 in the state that the stripper cylinder 30 presses the workpiece 2 by the pressure of the oil chamber 37.
