Abstract:
PURPOSE:To simply measure the illuminance in a liquid by dipping a closed end of a tube having transparency into the liquid, arranging the other opening end of the tube in a gas layer, and inserting a light amount sensor into the tube. CONSTITUTION:One end of a glass tube 1 is closed, while the other end is opened. The closed end of the glass tube 1 is fixed to a top plate 2 of a culture bath dipped into a culture liquid. The opening end of the glass tube 1 is exposed to the outside air of the culture system. A light amount sensor 4 holding a phototransistor 3 or the like at the front end thereof is inserted into the glass tube 1. The sensor 4 has a flange 5 which hits the opening end of the glass tube 1 thereby to position tone phototransistor 3. In order to sterilize the culture bath, after the glass tube 1 is fixed to the culture bath and subjected to autoclaving, the sensor 4 is inserted. Accordingly, the illuminance in the liquid can be measured simply without bringing the sensor 4 in direct touch with the liquid.
