To provide a phosphor film removing apparatus for a fluorescent tube which can quickly and reliably remove a phosphor film formed on the inner face of a glass tube of the fluorescent tube.
The phosphor film removing apparatus is provided with a blast processing means 7 for separating the phosphor film formed on the inner face of a glass tube of a fluorescent tube 2, of which at least cap parts 12 are cut and removed, by blowing a scrubbing material together with compressed air to the inner face of the glass tube, and a separating means for separating the phosphor film separated by the blast processing means 7 and the scrubbing material used by the blast procesing means 7. In this case, the scrubbing material is glass beads with a particle diameter not smaller than 50 μm and not larger than 500 μm, and the scrubbing material is mixed with the compressed air whose flow rate is adjusted to be at 200 m/s or lower or 100 m/s or lower in the glass tube of a straight type fluorescent tube or an annular type fluorescent tube, respectively, to further improve the phosphor film removal efficiency.
