To sterilize bacteria propagated in a bathtub, a filtration means, and the wall faces of the bathtub by installing a circulation means for water to a circulating flow route, a means for filtering suspended solids, a means for flocculating suspended solids by producing metal hydrates by electrolysis, and a means for supplying chlorine compounds.
Water in a bathtub 8 is sucked into a circulating flow route through a suction inlet 10 and enters in an electrolytic bath 20. In the electrolytic bath 20, electrolysis is carried out while using an electrode 21 as an anode and an electrode 22 as a cathode to produce chlorine and hypochlorite from chlorine ion in the water, chlorine in hypochlorite state and to disinfect the water. After that, the circulating water enters a filtration tank 13 and while using the electrode 14 as an anode and a main body 19 as a cathode, aluminum ion is dissolved in water and immediately converted into aluminum hydroxide, which is a metal hydrate. Then, suspended solids in the resultant water is chemically reacted with the aluminum hydroxide to be flocculated into flocs, so that the particle diameter of the suspended solids is increased and the flocculated suspended solids are easily removed by a filter, material 15 and bathtub water can be kept clean.
