The animal carcass B charged from a carcass charging port 3 is shredded into flesh and bone pieces P by a shredding means 4 and the flesh and bone pieces P fallen from the shredding means 4 are housed in a treatment basket 5 set so as to be accessible to the sterilization tank 11 of a sterilization device body 1 and sterilized along with the treatment basket 5 in the sterilization tank 11. The drain produced in the shredding and sterilizing process is sterilized by the secondary sterilization means 2 provided at a drain discharge part 16 before discharged.
