Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an aqueous adhesive excellent in preservation stability, initial adhesion, adhesive strength and water resistance.
SOLUTION: This aqueous emulsion comprises (A) an aqueous emulsion containing a modified polyvinyl alcohol having a primary or secondary amino group in the molecule as a dispersant and a polymer comprising at least one kind of unsaturated monomer unit selected from an ethylenically unsaturated monomer and a dienic monomer as a dispersoid, and (B) at least one kind of an agent for making the adhesive water-resistant selected from a polyvalent epoxy compound and aldehyde compound. This aqueous adhesive is applied for adhering various kind materials, and especially and suitably used as the adhesive for wood. The adhesive is used for adhering the wood not only to the wood but also to a paper, fiber products, a mineral board, a film, etc.
