To provide an aq. coating compsn. which possesses features suitable particularly for use in the internal surface of a can, such as processability, corrosion resistance, and flavor resistance, and, in addition, possesses good retort resistance and to provide a process for preparing the same and a coating using the same.
This aqueous coating compsn. comprises an aq. dispersion or aq. solution of a resin compsn. comprising an epoxy resin (A), at least one member (B) selected from an acrylic polymer and an acrylic monomer mixture, and a polyolefin (C), wherein the resin compsn. is prepd. by (1) a method wherein the polyolefin (C) is added to a product of a reaction of the epoxy resin (A) with the at least one member (B) selected from an acrylic polymer and an acrylic monomer mixture, or (2) a method wherein a mixture of the epoxy resin (A) with the polyolefin (C) is reacted with the at least one member (B) selected from an acrylic polymer and an acrylic monomer mixture.
