Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aqueous ink composition for a ballpoint pen that satisfies dry-up resistance and exhibits a stable writing performance over a long period of time even if it is an aqueous ink using a shear-viscosity reducing agent, which is applicable for a writing instrument of a simple structure and to provide a ballpoint pen that contains the aqueous ink composition.SOLUTION: The aqueous ink composition for a ballpoint pen contains a coloring agent, water, a shear-viscosity reducing agent, and a copolymer of formulae (1), (2) and (3) as given below. The ballpoint pen contains the aqueous ink composition for a ballpoint pen. [In the formulae, l, m, and n satisfy both m/m+n≥0.8 and l/l+m+n≥0.1; and x is x≥1.]
