To provide an ink composition containing a self-dispersible pigment, an isobutyl ether of a specific glycol such as diethylene glycol mono-isobutyl ether, triethylene glycol mono-isobutyl ether or the like, and the ink composition for an inkjet-recording, capable of realizing a good image having less blur on ordinary paper or even on recycled paper.

This aqueous ink composition contains water, the self-dispersible pigment in water and diethylene glycol mono-isobutyl ether or triethylene glycol mono-isobutyl ether.
