To provide an aqueous ink containing a colored fine particle which ink does not have problems in dispersion stability and discharge stability and gives ink-jet images which are excellent in graininess, gloss and light resistance.
This aqueous ink containing a colored fine particle for ink jet contains at least one colored fine particle selected from the group consisting of a pigment that can coordinate metal ions at not less than two coordination positions, a colored fine particle comprising a resin containing a ligand that can coordinate metal ions at not less than two coordination positions and a metal ion, and a colored fine particle obtained by covering a resin containing the pigment, the ligand and the metal ion with a resin. The ligand is at least one of a compound expressed by formula (I) or (II) and a polymer comprising a monomer expressed by formula (III).
