Title:
AQUEOUS PIGMENT DISPERSION, AQUEOUS INK AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING AQUEOUS PIGMENT DISPERSION
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2007186569
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To provide aqueous ink which excels in dispersion stability and has high color development in plain paper, and furthermore an aqueous pigment dispersion for the ink.

The aqueous pigment dispersion comprises one or more (meth)acrylic copolymers (B) obtained by polymerizing a polymerizable monomer composition containing not less than 95 mass% one or more polymerizable monomers having solubility of not more than 5 mass% in the presence of particles of a (meth)acrylic copolymer (A) containing a pigment. The aqueous ink uses the aqueous pigment dispersion. A method for producing the aqueous pigment dispersion comprises a step (1) of impregnating the particles of the (meth)acrylic copolymer (A) containing a pigment with a polymerizable monomer composition containing not less than 95 mass% one or more polymerizable monomers having solubility in water at 20°C of not more than 5 mass% in the absence of a surface active agent and a step (2) of polymerizing the above polymerizable monomer composition inside the above particles of (A) in an aqueous medium.
