Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide an article conveying apparatus facilitating the work of adjusting the gap between flight bars to correspond to changes in size of an article to be conveyed.
CONSTITUTION: The leading bar-shaped member 10 of each flight bar FB1 is connected to a first endless chain 25 and the trailing bar-shaped member 19 of each flight bar FB1 is connected to a second endless chain 27. The first and second endless chains 25, 27 are normally operated in synchronism by drive means. When a gap adjustment means incorporated into the drive means moves the first and second endless chains 25, 27 relative to each other, the relative distance between the bar-shaped members 10, 19 varies. The leading and trailing bar-shaped members 10, 19 are interconnected by an end plate 21 in such a way as to be movable relative to each other in the direction along a conveying path. The end plate 21 limits the range of relative movement between the bar- shaped members 10, 19 to within a predetermined range.
