Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an article transport device in which articles fed by article feeding means can be received smoothly and reliably due to article holding means configured to receive articles in parallel states fed by the article feeding means and transport them in the same direction.SOLUTION: An article transport device comprises: article feeding means 2 for transporting an article 1 in a parallel state which is parallel to the transport direction; multiple article holding means 5 for receiving articles in the parallel state supplied from the article feed means and transport them in the same direction; and first attitude conversion means 22 for converting the attitude of each of the article holding means to a parallel position parallel to the transport direction of the article and an orthogonal position perpendicular to the transport direction of the article. A control device operates each article hold means in synchronization with an article supplied from the article feed means and makes the article hold means receive the article, with the attitude of each article hold means in a parallel position. Then, when the attitude of the article hold means is brought into the orthogonal position by the attitude conversion means, transport is performed with a narrowed interval between the article hold means.
