Abstract:
To provide an artificial lung system which can be used for extracorporeal lung assist for middle and long periods.
In the artificial lung system 10, a gas exchange membrane 11 separates a blood side 12 from an air side 14, the gas exchange membrane 11 includes, in each case, on the blood side 12 and on the air side 14, a foreign surface 15, 16 that is colonized on the blood side 12 and/or the sir side 14 with biological cells 22 and 21. The artificial lung system can be used for the purpose of producing an extracorporeal or implantable lung assist system or producing a lung model system for the examination of pressure of air passage.
