Abstract:

PURPOSE: To reduce slipperiness and danger during walking by treating the surface of artificial marble to make a slip resistance value of O-Y pull slip meter within a given range.

CONSTITUTION: The surface of artificial marble obtained by blending 20-80wt.% acrylic resin or unsaturated polyester resin with 80-20wt.% inorganic filler is treated to make a slip resistance value by an O-Y pull slip meter within a range of 0.2-1.0. For example, in the case of sandblast treatment, the roughness of sandblasted surface is preferably 20-300 microns and the sandblasted surface is preferably ≥50% of the whole surface. In the case of digging channels on the surface, the shape of the channels may be various forms such as square, circular or wavy shape and in any shape, preferably the width of the channels is 1-5mm, the depth of the channels is 0.5-2mm and the pitch of the channels is 20-70mm.
