Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a new artificial saliva having active composition, capable of moistening oral cavity and not only suppressing occurrence of edema in oral cavity, but also hardly causing change of appearance and pH during storage and lowering of lysozyme activity, having good feel and further not showing side effects.
CONSTITUTION: This artificial saliva contains a metallic ion in saliva in a form of chloride and further contains about 0.2-0.6% lysozyme chloride, isotonic solution, nonionic thickener and antiseptic agent and pH of the saliva is adjusted to about 5-6 by a citric acid alkali salt or alkali hydroxide.
