PURPOSE: To make continued operation of elevator temporarily when one earthquake sensor is actuated while another sensor is kept in the working condition.
CONSTITUTION: An at-earthquake elevator operating device is equipped with an earthquake sensor 12 of small level actuation and another earthquake sensor 13 of large level actuation, and elevator car 1 is stopped at the nearest floor when the sensor 12 is actuated, and after a certain time, the sensor is restituted automatically to the working condition to resume the elevator operation. When the other sensor 13 is actuated, the car 1 is stopped at the nearest floor, and the elevator operation is ceased. This at-earthquake elevator operating device incorporates a continuous operation circuit 9 consisting of a terminal unit 16 to receive a continuous operation command from the service station when the sensor 13 is actuated, a failure sensing circuit 18 to judge if it is OK to continue the operation after sensor 13 actuation when the continuous operation command is fed, and a continuous operation command circuit 19 which puts the sensor 13 in working condition if the passed judgement shows a normality and holds a continued operation while monitoring the earthquake generating situation thereafter with the sensor 12.
