To provide an audio reproducing equipment, which can be reduced in power consumption while maintaining excellent usability and uses a connection type radio communication system like the Bluetooth system, and a power consumption control method.
In an operation method in a power-saving mode implemented by a Bluetooth-audio converting adapter 20, the power-saving mode is a process of setting a Bluetooth module 30 of the Bluetooth-audio converting adapter 20 in a Sniff mode or a Park mode (in which a communication link of Bluetooth is maintained) and entering a power-saving state. Here, the Sniff mode is a process mode in which up to seven Bluetooth devices (slaves) can be set in the power-saving mode while connections are maintained and the Park mode, on the other hand, is a process mode which can be set to the power-saving mode while connections with eight or more Bluetooth devices are maintained. In an embodiment of the present invention, a case of entering the Sniff mode as the power-saving mode as the power-saving mode is explained. Further, the power-saving mode is a process of disconnecting Bluetooth links to completely stop the Bluetooth module 30 from operating.
