A computer encrypts authentication information on an applicable user by using a key for encrypting authentication information on a predetermined user to hold the information in a storage device; encrypts the key by each of plural management users including the applicable user managing the authentication information on the predetermined user to hold the encrypted keys of the plural management users associated with the predetermined user in the storage device; and receives a management request of the authentication information on the predetermined user with an input device, collates identification information on a management user indicated by the management request with the storage device, generates the key by decrypting an encrypted key of the management user for the predetermined user with the authentication information on the management user indicated by the management request when the encrypted key can be specified, and encrypts the authentication information on the predetermined user updated according to the management request with the key to store the information in the storage device.
